The Red Bus is a small charter bus designed for the safe and efficient transport of up to 18 preschool age, 18 high school-age young adults, or 27 elementary to middle school-age children and their teachers/chaperones. It is certified by the State if Vermont as a "Multi-functional School Activity Bus" (MFSAB), suitable for the transport of public school students to and from educational activities. The vehicle is a 2005 Chevrolet with a Bluebird body attached, which complies with all requirements for transport of Headstart program participants, professionally and efficiently driven by a commercial driver.
The Red Bus operates normally within Chittenden County between schools and local areas of interest including downtown Burlington and the waterfront, Shelburne Farms, Mazza's Farmstand in Colchester, and servicing most public schools for grades K-12. Service to Lamoille, Addison, and Grand Isle counties is also available for an extra $6 per hour.
